WHO AM I?
A Passion for Health and Fitness
Welcome! I'm Emily and I am the Owner of EmPower Personal Training. I am a Certified Personal Trainer and Nutrition Coach with a Master's Degree in Public Health Education.
I'm also a wife, a mom to 3 boys and a woman over the age of 40 trying to stay healthy and strong, while running a business.
I know that finding time to exercise and eat well is a challenge and I want to help women make healthy changes that work for their lifestyle, so that they can be their best self in all of the roles that we play.
MY STORY
Growing up, I was never active or an athlete. I was naturally thin and I didn't find fitness or sports interesting. That changed when I had started having children. I had my first son at the age of 25 and then I had twin boys 3 years later. I had about 30 pounds of baby weight that I wanted to lose, so I started running and doing Beachbody videos. I found that I really enjoyed exercise and eventually I started running 5 and 10 K’s, doing long-distance cycling, and I even ran a half marathon.

I taught Health and Safety Education in the schools and I would get up early to take a cycling class a few times a week. I really loved it and the instructor encouraged me to get certified to teach. I wasn’t sure at first, but then I decided to take a chance, so I got certified to teach cycle and group fitness classes and I had a BLAST. After a few months of teaching, I knew that fitness was a passion that I needed to pursue, so I got certified to become a personal trainer.

I started training clients at my gym and eventually branched out to start my own business and I'm having the MOST fun helping women feel strong and confident!
The Benefits of Strength Training
This is me at the ages of 27, 37, and 47.

At 27, I wasn't exercising at all.
At 37, I was doing a lot of cardio......running races and doing Beachbody videos
At 47, I had been doing strength training for about 7 years.
These pictures are proof that lifting heavy weights changes the way we look AND feel!
